Cougars Win on Opening Night

So last night I went to the Cougars opening night with some friends (can you believe Steph didn't want to go) and have to admit I was alittle surprised and disappointed with the low turnout. I know they had a pretty dismal season last year but they went 4 and 1 in the pre-season and it is opening night. The attendance was only 3900 in a areana with a capacity of 6000. Well maybe if thet have more games like last night and get a string of wins going more people will come out. They beat the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-2 in a game that had pretty much everything, nice goals, big saves, big hits, and two fights. My only complaint was the number of penalties in the game. Most of them went our way and the Cougars scored three powerplay goals but they really slowed down the pace of what would have been a really fast game. They play Seattle again tonight but I'm not sure we will be going.
